Global coronavirus death toll surpasses 500,000 while Greece reports no fatalities since Thursday

Johns Hopkins University data shows that 500,000 people have died worldwide, and 10 million people were confirmed to have been infected with the novel virus.

On Monday, Greece reported 15 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number to 3,390.

Of the new cases, 3 were passengers on flights from abroad and 12 were cases confirmed in the Xanthi area of northern Greece.

Ten Greeks are intubated in Intensive Care Units and their average age is 60 years. Three are women while a 90% have an underlying condition or are aged 70+. A total of 119 patients have been discharged from ICUs.

The total number of fatalities since the outbreak stands at 191. There have been no covid-19 related deaths since Thursday.

The median age of the deceased was 76 years, while a 95.8% of patients had some underlying condition and were aged 70 years or older.

A total of 308,392 COVID-19 tests (includes repeat tests) have been conducted in Greece.
