Second phone call between US President Trump and Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis

U.S. President Donald Trump called Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for a second time on Wednesday night.

It is recalled Trump called Mitsotakis for the first time on Wednesday to discuss the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Following their conversation, he contacted Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Erdoğan reportedly told Trump that Turkey is not the party creating instability in the Eastern Mediterranean. He stressed that Turkey proved with “concrete actions” that it wants to reduce tensions and establish a dialogue on the matter.

The U.S. President urged the two NATO allies to commit to a dialogue, the White House said.

According to reports, Trump in the second phone call assured Mitsotakis that Washington has expressed its discontent to Ankara over ongoing activities in the Eastern Mediterranean. He also said that his aim was to de-escalate tensions in the region.
