US President Trump’s phone call with Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday night.

According to sources, Trump called Mitsotakis to discuss the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.

As announced by the office of the Prime Minister, Mitsotakis “thanked Mr. Trump for his interest and for the communication that took place while the Congress of the Republican Party is in progress”.

The Greek PM also “raised the issue of Turkey’s destabilizing actions, which are endangering peace and stability in the broader region and testing the cohesion of NATO.”

At the same time, Mitsotakis stressed that “Greece is ready to contribute meaningfully to a de-escalation on the condition that Turkey ceases all provocative actions at once.”

What Trump said during the conversation is not known.
