A Greek Presidential Guard, a woman wearing an Amalia costume, and an Evzones' tsarouchi have been revealed as the charms of the Museum of Cycladic Art for 2021.
The charms for 2021 are inspired by the 200th Anniversary of the Greek War of Independence of 1821.
The most famous footwear of the Greece’s mainland until 19th- beginning of 20th century. It became historic symbol of the revolution of 1821 as part of the soldier’s attire.
Evzones are the chosen soldiers of the Greek army, broadly known as tsoliades, name deriving from the uniform that was established by king Otto of Greece.
Miniature of a Greek woman wearing a traditional costume which was established by the queen of Greece, Amalia, as the formal clothing of her court.
Over the next years this type of clothing, starting from the royal court, was spread around Greece and abroad as the national woman attire.

Museum of Cycladic Art is dedicated to the study and promotion of ancient cultures of the Aegean and Cyprus, with special emphasis on Cycladic Art of the 3rd millennium BC. It was founded in 1986, to house the collection of Nicholas and Dolly Goulandris. Since then it has grown in size to accommodate new acquisitions, obtained either through direct purchases or through donations by important collectors and institutions.
