Island of Lesvos in a stricter lockdownIsland of Lesvos in a stricter lockdownThe island of Lesvos will enter a stricter six-day lockdown as of Wednesday, due to an increased number of coronavirus infections.

The stricter coronavirus restrictions will be in place until 6 a.m. on January 18.

  • Travelling beyond the Lesvos region is prohibited except for health reasons
  • Shops will remain close
  • Religious ceremonies are banned
  • Curfew from 6pm-5am

The North Aegean Region authorities will provide basic goods and pharmaceuticals to local residents in need, including home-bound residents with chronic health issues and low-income families.
