Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis wished the son of opposition leader Alexis Tsipras "well wishes and speedy recovery."

Orpheus Tsipras tested positive for COVID-19 on January 24.

"I wish Mr. Tsipras 's son well wishes and a speedy recovery and the family to overcome this ordeal quickly," Mitsotakis said in a Twitter post.

Tsipras stressed that no other member of his family has been infected and that his son has mild symptoms.

The leader of SYRIZA and former Prime Minister will remain in quarantine as a precaution, even though he has had both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

"The coronavirus also visited our house today. Last night, our Orpheus showed slight symptoms. We took the test in the morning and a while ago we learned the results," he said on Facebook days ago.

"Betty, Phoebus and I came out negative, but Orpheus came out positive. They are well and like most children are expected to get over it easily," he continued.

"According to the doctors, although I have done both doses of the vaccine, not enough time has passed yet for complete immunity and in any case, I have to stay at home as a precaution for a while, in order to exclude any possibility of further transmission," he said.

Former Greek PM Tsipras receives COVID-19 vaccine.

"I am sure that everything will go well," the opposition leader concluded on Facebook.
