Moments ago, the WTA Grampians Trophy Semifinal ended.
The high quality match ended with Estonian Anett Kontaveit winning 6-2, 3-6, 9-11, against Greece’s Maria Sakkari.
The two semi-finals were the last matches of the Grampians Trophy - a tournament created for players whose preparations were affected by being put in a 14-day hard hotel quarantine.
The final was not played due to the tournament's delayed start.
"It was a very tough match," Kontaveit said in her post-match press conference.
"I think Maria's a very good player and she was coming out hitting the ball really well, and put me under a lot of pressure, and it was tough for me to get used to that speed in the beginning a little bit.
We will see Sakkari next week at the Australian Open.
It was the ultimate workout with Greece’s Maria Sakkari and personal trainer Luke Zocchi.
Fans were treated to a special 30 minute HIIT workout session on Instagram Live, celebrating one of Sakkari’s last quarantine workouts.
“Thank you so much, Luke @zocobodypro! It was a pretty intensive workout but I loved it! Luckily I don’t have to do that everyday. 1 more day in quarantine, then back on the court! I can’t wait!” the tennis star posted.
