Kikilias: We are third in Europe with COVID-19 vaccinations, surpassing 850,000

Minister of Health, Vasileios Kikilias, visited the large vaccination center in Maroussi where, among other things, he referred to the course of COVID-19 vaccinations in Greece.

Kikilias was accompanied by the Secretary General of Primary Health Care, Mario Themistokleous and the head of the vaccination center, Squadron Leader Kyriaki Pelekis.

In this context, the minister toured the premises and talked to both the medical staff and citizens who had arrived there for their vaccination.

"I want to say that we have exceeded 850,000 vaccinations," he said.

"If one calculates the first dose, with 5.3%, we are the third in Europe," the minister said.

Kikilias stressed that there is fatigue in the population, but now "there is hope and hope is the driving force and we will succeed."

"We are close to achieving this effort, which is to win this huge health battle that we are waging a year now," he added.
