On July 9-12, the Union of Greek communities of Armenia held the long-awaited summer camp for Greek children born and living in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
About twenty children from Tavush, Shirak, Lori, Kotayk, Yerevan and a single girl from Nagorno-Karabakh were hosted by the Gugarats Diocese at the Tsitsernak camp.
The camp had a busier curriculum compared to previous years and the children learned not only the Greek alphabet, but also how to write their names, greetings and daily conversation.
They also learned Greek dances, the Greek national anthem and other songs.
The Knowledge Camp Program taught ancient Greece history and mythology, utilising videos, games and puzzles.
This year's camp had painting books related to ancient Greek mythology.
With this methodology, children learnt about the ancient Greek gods.
On the last day of the camp, a Camp Newsletter was established to keep the children living in different cities and towns of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh in contact with each other.
