14 arrested within 24 hours on domestic violence charges

Some 14 people have been arrested on domestic violence charges in the last 24 hours as reported by Greek police.

According to reports  officers from the relevant units responded immediately and arrested 14 people on domestic violence related charges while over 30 complaints are also being investigated.

Greek Police said that domestic violence is a crime that is prosecuted ex officio and punished by the provisions of Law 3500/2006, while adding:

“The Greek Police investigates every complaint and manages every case of domestic violence and informs the judicial authorities, while providing guidance and information to victims, in search of housing structures, health care, psychosocial and legal support.”
