Leaves of absence for public health workers suspended due to rising COVID-19 cases

By 3 years ago

The government is suspending holidays or leaves of absence for public healthcare workers as of September 1 due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

Included in the order are all staff in the National Health System hospitals, the emergency ambulance service, the National Public Health Organisation, and Primary Health Care centres.

COVID-19 incidents are expected to rise during the first two weeks of September when holidaymakers return to cities, social activities resume, and schools reopen.
