Four water-dumping aircraft and some 40 firefighters have been dispatched to Mount Athos in northern Greece to put out a wildfire stoked by strong winds.

According to reports, the blaze started in forestland near a skete, or hamlet, connected to the Monastery of Agia Anna, inside the boundaries of the monastic community.

The spot where it is burning is remote and hard to reach, the Fire Brigade said.
