A 34-year-old Iraqi asylum seeker was charged with being a member of the terrorist group Daesh/ISIS on Tuesday after being arrested Monday.
He was arrested on Monday afternoon in central Athens after authorities were informed by a foreign service that the man is a suspect of being a member of the terrorist group.
Footage from 2014 in the hands of the Greek intelligence services and the police counterterrorism unit show that the terrorist was armed and maintaining the Daesh/ISIS terror group.
According to authorities, the Iraqi national came to Greece in 2018 through Turkey reaching the Greek island of Lesbos.
He was twice refused asylum by the Greek authorities while his appeal was also declined.
