A new incident of fan violence took place in Chalkida on January 31, with the victim denouncing it only on February 4 following the death of Alkis Kabanos.

The 29-year-old, according to the complaint, was in his parked car in the area of Kanithos with his partner.

Suddenly, as Evia Top reported, three people with hoods appeared and shouted “damn Panathinaikos.”

The attackers then suddenly hit him with a bat on the head and with a sharp object in the abdomen.

The 29-year-old went to the hospital, but did not say that he was beaten.

He claimed that he hit himself, since, as he said, he had been threatened that if he spoke, he and his family were in danger.

A few days later, the 29-year-old made the decision and went to the police, where he filed a lawsuit.

The authorities are seriously considering the possibility that this case is directly related to the attack received by an Olympiacos fan the next day outside a gym in Chalkida.

He was then attacked by two people and wounded with a hammer on the head.

The victim had a criminal record as he had been arrested twice in Attica for sports violence.

Meanwhile, a 23-year-old man charged with the brutal murder of 19-year-old footfall fan Alkis Kabanou in Thessaloniki and the injury of two of his friends pleaded not guilty before an examining magistrate on Monday.

In his testimony, the man admitted being the driver of one of three vehicles used by a group of people who participated in the fatal attack against 19-year-old on February 1.

However, he denied any involvement in either Kabanou’s murder or in the injuries of his two friends during the attack.
