At a time when Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium and another long list of countries ban the burqa, the Greek government still refuses to make such an action.
The independent MP of A ‘Athens, Constantinos Bogdanos, submitted a relevant question to the Minister of Justice, Konstantinos Tsiaras in September 2020 in order to receive a clear answer.
As it turns out, his question was never read.
At the same time, Bogdanos has announced that he is launching a political movement called the “Εθνική Συμφωνία” (National Agreement).
The unveilings will apparently take place in early April in Athens. The most probable date is on April 5, from the Stratos Vasilikos hotel. He will appeal to the liberal-conservative space.
The MP is also building European bridges for the new movement as he was in Brussels last week as a speaker at a conference organised by the European Conservatives and Reformists Party (ECR) and the American think tank Edmund Burke Foundation.
In Brussels, he also met with the Ukrainian ambassador to the EU. He also made contacts with officials of the wider conservative area.
