Cyprus returns the immigrants back to Lebanon.

A tug boat was hired to return the 49 irregular migrants who arrived by boat yesterday morning off the coast of Paphos.

According to information from SIGMA’s correspondent in Paphos, Marios Ignatiou, the 49 migrants boarded the Ledra Pride vessel, which was already on its way to its destination Tripoli.

The boat used by the 49 was seized by the Coastal Police as evidence in the investigations into their illegal entry into the territorial waters of the Republic of Cyprus.

Last night seventeen people, among them two pregnant women, were transported first by boat and then by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital for treatment. Shortly after midnight, they returned to the ship.
