Emmanuel Macron expressed his thanks to Greece for its assistance in extinguishing the fires in France, which is in the midst of the heat wave.

Greece sent two Canadair (CL415) firefighting aircraft to assist France. This particular type of aircraft was requested by France itself, which activated the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union, as it has to deal with extensive forest fires within the European Union.

“Solidarity is European: a year ago, when Greece was tormented by the threatening fires, we mobilized in concert as Europeans.
