Stefanos Tsitsipas downed defending champion Andrey Rublev at the Mubadala tennis event in Abu Dhabi 6-2 4-6 6-2 to win the trophy.
It was a very interesting match between the players who have played plenty of times over the past few years. There is a soft rivalry there developing and Rublev wasn't very happy about losing the match. He has also himself to blame as he shifted momentum greatly at the end of the second set taking it 6-4.
He was in a great position to turn it around but completely fell apart suddenly at the start of the final set. He was up 40-15 in the first game of the final set but committed several errors in a row to give Tsitsipas another break point. He slammed a forehand wide to lose his serve and then lost it once more to go down 0-4.
After a huge momentum-shifting game that secured him the second set. He did struggle with his serve all day long, something the Greek did not have to deal with. Overall, a very solid performance for Tsitsipas to take it.
