Leopard battle tank armour is made in Greece

By 12 months ago

The Leopard is one of the world's most modern and sophisticated tanks. It is manufactured in Germany by the Krauss-Maffei company and supplies the military of 15 countries, including Greece.

Most people know the Leopard as a German battle tank, but not the fact that its armour is made in Greece. In particular, the Greek company EODH, based in Thessaloniki, armours the Leopards used in Germany, Greece and Hungary.

However, as revealed during the recent Defea defence and security exhibition, the founder of EODH, Andreas Mitsis, signed an agreement a few days ago to shield the tanks in the countries it operates in.

This success for the Greek industry shows that it has a future. A characteristic of the success is that the company from Thessaloniki has developed (it also has its own research and development department) a new type of armour placed on the latest generation of Leopard.

Note that more than 3,500 Leopards have already been produced, while the Greek Army has more than 350.

EODH is also the company that has built the Hoplite military vehicle, which can also be used in biological warfare. The vehicle in question has an order of 700 units, which may also be done in a factory that will be built in Greece.
