Greek and Indian Navies conduct joint exercise south of Crete

On Saturday, September 16, 2023, and in the context of the international collaborations of the Hellenic Armed Forces (HEF) planning of the Hellenic Armed Forces, a joint PASSEX (Passing Exercise) exercise was conducted between the Frigate HELLI and the Offshore Patrol Vessel INS SUMEDHA of the Indian Navy, in the maritime area south of Crete.

The joint training in question, during which communications, advanced manoeuvres and helicopter tows were carried out, continues a series of activities between the two countries militaries.

This follows from the participation of the Indian Air Force for the first time in the Multinational Exercise "HNIOHOS 23" with Su-30 Aircraft, which sealed the close cooperation of the Defense Forces of the two countries, is highlighted.

The activity contributed to the increase of combat capability and operational readiness and the upgrading of interoperability and mutual understanding between the participating forces and is part of the deepening of military relations between Greece and India.
