WHAT NOW FOR CYPRUS AFTER NAGORNO-KARABAKH?

Now that it appears Nagorno-Karabakh will be fully absorbed into Azerbaijan, Hellenism faces a new challenge.

The only thing preventing Azerbaijan from recognising the "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus," Turkey's occupational authorities and only recognised by Ankara, was the threat of Cyprus and Greece recognising Nagorno-Karabakh.

This is no longer a fear for Azerbaijan.

Let's not forget that Azerbaijani dictator Ilham Aliyev stated earlier this month at the meeting of the Organization of Turkic States that the flag of Turkish-occupied Cyprus will fly at the events in Azerbaijan, in 2022 he met with the leader of Turkish-occupied Cyprus, and the Nakhichivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan already recognises Turkish-occupied Cyprus.

Athens betted that by integrating Azerbaijani energy resources into the European acquis, it will somehow moderate Azerbaijan.

In fact, the Greek Prime Minister ridiculously labelled the new pipeline a "pipeline of values" because it allowed Europe to diversify energy imports away from Russia in the context of the war in Ukraine - since then, we had 9-month-long starvation, civilian casualties, and entire historical Armenian areas ethnically cleansed.

Did Greece, on the blood of Armenians, prevent Baku's intentions from eventually recognising the Turkish-occupied territories of Cyprus, or did Greece enable and empower an enemy?
