Turkey's Annexation of 'Greek Islet' Zourafa Raises Tensions: S-400 Missile Tests Announced

Reports from the Greek media have suggested that Turkey has taken control of a strategically important "Greek islet." Turkish authorities have issued an official international diplomatic statement claiming exclusive sovereignty over the islet of Zourafa, designating it as Turkish territory.

Furthermore, Turkey has not limited its actions to this declaration. It has also revealed plans to conduct operational tests of S-400 missiles in the vicinity of the "Greek-administered islet of Zourafa" in collaboration with Turkish F-16s and drones. These actions have raised concerns and tensions in the region.

Zourafa or Ladoxera (Greek: Ζουράφα or Λαδόξερα) is a uninhabited Greek islet rock in the Aegean Sea, east of Samothrace, and north of Imbros.
