Protesters blocked the entrance to McDonald's in Syntagma - Two arrested

Clashes occurred at noon on Saturday in the centre of Athens during a rally for Palestine.

The tension started when a group of protesters blocked the entrance of McDonald's on Ermou Street in Syntagma and shouted slogans against the American restaurant.

Police attempted to remove them, but the protesters resisted, started throwing objects at the police, and some of them entered the restaurant.

The situation got out of hand for a few minutes, with the police entering the store to locate them while they used chemicals and flash bangs to disperse them. In fact, due to the tension caused, the store window was broken.

The police made two arrests.
