Greek police announced on Saturday that they have arrested four men accused of possessing explosives, a week after a bomb exploded outside the labour ministry in Athens.

The bomb, which was placed in a backpack and hung on railings opposite the ministry, detonated on February 3 but did not cause any casualties. While the arrests were not initially tied to the blast, one of the suspects has been linked to an extremist group known as the Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei, which is an anarchist outfit that has previously been involved in letter bomb attacks.

Attacks on public establishments, banks, and diplomatic representations have been a recurring issue in Greece, typically attributed to extreme left-wing or anarchist movements.
