Visiting Magical Delos

Published by

Delos is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the birthplace of the Greek gods Artemis and Apollo, which can only be accessed by boat as it is not directly connected to mainland Greece.

During the summer months, day trips to Delos are available from the nearby islands of Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Tinos, and Syros. Local companies organise these trips, which usually take around 30 minutes from Mykonos.

Boat tickets can be purchased at the port in Mykonos Town (the most common route), with round-trip tickets costing around €22 for adults and discounts available for children.

However, the ticket price does not include admission to the archaeological site. Tickets for the Delos site are managed by the Greek Ministry of Culture, which states that boats can only dock at Delos with a special permit, and overnight stays are not allowed.

Due to the popularity of Delos as a tourist destination, booking your tickets in advance is recommended to avoid any issues or restrictions.
