Greek manager Gus Poyet, who was touted as a potential candidate for the Ireland job, has shrugged off questions about his future following Greece’s failure to qualify for Euro 2024. Poyet was hailed in Greece for his efforts to revive a struggling team and guide them to the Euro playoffs, thanks to their success in the Nations League. However, criticism has mounted after a disappointing end to their campaign, culminating in a penalty shootout loss to Georgia on Tuesday night.

Poyet’s contract with the Greek FA expires this Sunday, and although there have been talks about him joining the FAI, he has chosen not to discuss his plans. Furthermore, there are no indications that the Greek FA intends to extend his contract. According to @sporfm946, Poyet is reportedly set to leave Greece tomorrow, with his departure imminent as his contract will not be renewed.
