A fire engulfed a bus belonging to the Thessaloniki Regional bus service earlier today, causing a temporary disruption near the Perraivos bridge on the westbound stream.
The incident occurred in the absence of passengers, and the driver escaped unharmed.
Twenty firefighters, supported by seven vehicles, promptly responded to the scene to contain the blaze. Meanwhile, traffic police diverted traffic from the Pylea junction in the westbound direction as a precautionary measure.
Video footage captured the intensity of the fire, drawing attention to the swift response of emergency services. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
