Greece has diverged significantly from the European Union average under Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, claimed opposition leader Nikos Androulakis of PASOK-Movement for Change. In an interview on the radio program "Radar," hosted by journalist Dimitris Koukouberis on Athens municipal radio station "Athina 98.4," Androulakis criticised the current administration's economic performance.

Androulakis asserted that Greece has become a "champion in high food prices," with the inflation rate for food products being "more than quadruple" in March and "more than triple" in April compared to the previous year. He noted that Greeks rank last in the Eurozone in terms of purchasing power and second-to-last in the EU. Furthermore, Greece has the second-highest private healthcare spending in the EU, only behind Bulgaria.

He also criticised Mitsotakis's campaign slogan, "Vote for New Democracy so that we are close to Europe," calling it misleading. "The only thing keeping the government afloat," Androulakis added, "is a very weak main opposition that collapsed and replaced politics with lifestyle."

Androulakis reaffirmed his party's commitment to supporting birth rates and working mothers and reiterated his call for a televised debate before the European Parliament elections to discuss European issues.

Regarding the recent developments in the illegal phone tapping case, PASOK's president pointed out that the prime minister, who oversees the national intelligence service, has "refused to discuss the thing for which he is responsible". He also warned that "anyone who fails to respect or implement the ruling of the country's supreme court, which vindicated me, will have to face me...for I will take legal action against [them]."
