Stefanos Tsitsipas faced a tougher-than-expected challenge but managed to overcome Daniel Altmaier to secure his place in the third round of the French Open. The Greek player, currently ranked No. 9 in the world, triumphed in four sets with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-2, 6(2)-7, 6-4 on the central court in Paris.

After dominating the first two sets, Tsitsipas encountered resistance as Altmaier took the third set in a tiebreaker. The German player further complicated matters by breaking Tsitsipas’ serve in the fourth set. However, Tsitsipas managed to regain his composure, ultimately winning the final three games to secure victory.

Tsitsipas’ next opponent will be determined from the match between Lorenzo Sonego and Zhizhen Zhang. This will be a crucial test as he aims to advance further in the tournament.
