Simultaneously, a new fire ignited within the Evligia Gorge at Pefkakia. Authorities issued a 112 warning to residents of Tria Monastiria, advising them to prepare for a possible evacuation. Helicopters and fully mobilised ground forces are actively combating the fires in the Agios Vasilios municipality and the gorge.
Meanwhile, a wildfire broke out in the Tzaverdella region of Aspropyrgos, Attica, around 10:30 AM, burning grass and low vegetation. The fire brigade dispatched 34 firefighters, two teams on foot, 10 vehicles, and a helicopter to control the blaze, which threatens local businesses and warehouses.
In Lakonia, another forest fire erupted north of the village Megali Spilia. The firefighting efforts include 43 firefighters, 13 vehicles, one team on foot, three aircraft, and one helicopter.
A fire at a business on Kefallinias Street in Moschato prompted a 112 emergency warning for nearby residents at 3:10 PM on Wednesday. Authorities advised people to stay indoors and keep windows and doors shut due to heavy smoke.
The fire, which engulfed storage and outdoor areas of the business premises, is being tackled by 18 firefighters and seven vehicles. The situation remains under control as firefighting efforts continue.
