The Attica Region has mobilised its services following the confirmation of the first case of goat plague at a livestock unit in Aspropyrgos.

Regional Governor Nikos Hardalias, in collaboration with Rural Development and Food Minister Kostas Tsiaras and Interior Minister Thodoris Livanios, has implemented strict health protocols from the onset.

Veterinary services in the region are conducting continuous and meticulous checks. A broad meeting held earlier reassessed the situation and upgraded protection measures aimed at eradicating the disease.

The key measures include:
– Immediate detection of any new cases.
– Prompt culling of infected animals within 24 hours.
– Intensive monitoring with numerous mobile units taking samples.

Authorities are focused on containing and eliminating the outbreak swiftly to protect the region’s livestock and prevent further spread.
