Thanasi Kokkinakis pulled off a remarkable upset at the US Open, defeating world-class player Stefanos Tsitsipas in a thrilling four-set match. The final score was 7-6(5), 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, a fantastic victory for the Greek Australian.

Thanasi has won 4 of his last 5 matches, while Stefanos has lost 4 of his last 5. It’s great to see Kokkinakis playing so well after overcoming a lot of injuries. This is his best win by ranking since his title in Adelaide earlier this year.

Tsitsipas’s record in NYC is almost tough to believe: R2-R1-R3-R3-R1-R2-R1. This latest loss to Kokkinakis continues his struggles at this Grand Slam event.
