Severe weather conditions in central Evia and Attica have led to a series of fires caused by lightning strikes.

On Friday, August 30th, four fires broke out in the municipalities of Kymi-Aliveri and Eretria in Evia. Firefighters, aided by aerial support, worked tirelessly to contain the flames, which fortunately did not threaten any settlements.

Meanwhile, in Attica, two fires ignited in the Kalyvia Thorikos area due to intense lightning activity. Fire crews, including volunteers, responded promptly to the incidents.

The heavy rainfall associated with the bad weather has caused flooding in some areas, turning roads into rivers. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and providing assistance to affected communities.
