Beleri, who was recently elected as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) on the New Democracy ticket, has already served two-thirds of his sentence, which was initially set to conclude in early October.
However, Beleri's release comes with a stipulation: he must maintain regular communication with the police station, though his physical presence will not be required.
Beleri, who was elected mayor of Himara in 2023, has been embroiled in controversy since his election. He was unable to take the oath of office due to his imprisonment on charges of attempting to buy votes—a charge that both he and the Greek government have vehemently denied.
Following the court's decision, Beleri briefly returned to prison, where he will remain until all necessary administrative procedures for his release are finalised.
