A shocking murder in Evia has led to the arrest of a 29-year-old brother-in-law of the victim, accused of orchestrating the crime. Two co-defendant brothers claim he manipulated them into killing their father, citing financial motives and family conflict. While the brother-in-law denies involvement, all three suspects remain in custody as the investigation unfolds.
The case has captivated public attention, with allegations of manipulation, family betrayal, and financial motives coming to light.
According to reports from eviaonline.gr, two brothers, who are co-defendants in the case, have pointed to their brother-in-law as the mastermind behind the crime. They claim he influenced them to commit the murder, presenting him as the instigator of the violent act.
"My husband often said he knew how to get rid of our father," the victim’s 26-year-old daughter reportedly testified. She alleged that her husband manipulated her and her brother with promises of freedom from their father’s control, claiming his motives were tied to her father’s finances.
The victim’s 22-year-old son echoed these allegations, stating, "I trusted my brother-in-law as a brother, as my best friend. But he used that trust to influence me. When I revealed to him the abuse my father had inflicted, he planted the idea that removing our father was the only solution."
Despite these damning accusations, the 29-year-old brother-in-law maintains his innocence. Through his lawyers, he asserts that he had no direct involvement in the crime and was merely a witness to the events. "He sticks to his original position, denying all allegations," his legal team stated.
All three suspects—the 29-year-old brother-in-law and the two siblings, aged 22 and 26—have now been remanded in custody as investigations continue. Authorities are delving deeper into the family dynamics and potential financial motives that may have driven this shocking crime.
