Sakkari, Greece's top-ranked female tennis player, was defeated in a hard-fought match against Camila Osorio, failing to advance to the second round of the Grand Slam tournament.
However, rather than dwell on the disappointing result, Sakkari took the opportunity to unwind before her next tournament. After her elimination, and before traveling to Washington D.C. with her partner Konstantinos Mitsotakis to attend a party for Donald Trump's inauguration, Sakkari shared on social media that she was able to enjoy some "mini-vacations" in Australia.
In a series of photos posted to her Instagram account, Sakkari can be seen relaxing on the beach, soaking up the sun and enjoying the ocean with her fellow athletes. She also took the chance to go on walks in nature to recharge.
Sakkari revealed that she even participated in filming some promotional content with other top Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas, who also had an early exit from the Australian Open and has since returned to Greece.
Despite the setback at the Australian Open, it appears Sakkari was able to make the most of her time in Australia, taking the opportunity to unwind and recharge before her next tournament. Fans will be eager to see the world #4 player bounce back stronger than ever.
