A high school student in Thessaloniki fainted and was taken to the hospital after attempting a TikTok challenge. The 14-year-old girl was transported by ambulance to Hippocrates Hospital.
According to a parent’s complaint, the girl and her classmates were participating in the “Valsava” challenge, which involves holding their breath for as long as possible. During the attempt, she lost consciousness and sustained a head injury from the fall.
Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis intervened, expressing concern over this incident and others like it.
“We absolutely must do everything we can to stop our children from engaging in such dangerous activities!” he wrote in a social media post.
