A blind student from Crete becomes proud flag-bearer for March 25 Parade in Chania

Paraskevas Piperakis, a blind young man has been named best student from the Music School of Chania and was given the honour of becoming flag-bearer during the March 25 Parade on Monday, celebrating Greek Independence Day.

The talented young student held Greece’s flag high with pride throughout the entire ceremony and proved that despite challenges, his strength and determination has helped him become the leading student at his school as well as an inspiration to all.

The Cretan crowd gave Paraskevas a very warm and loud applause as he walked through the streets of Chania with his school mates, celebrating Greece’s independence and proving that with perseverance anything can be achieved.
