The President of the Hellenic Republic, Prokopios Pavlopoulos bestowed Commander of the Order of Honour medals to Greek poet and translator, Titos Patrikios and theatre critic and translator Kostas Georgousopoulos, for their contribution to Greek literature on Monday.
“I present to you the medal of the Commander of the Order of Honour in recognition of your worth as an authentic representative of Modern Greek Literature,” Prokopis Pavlopoulos said during the celebration of Titos Patrikios.
Mr Patrikios expressed his great emotion and honour after accepting the medal, recalling his first encounter with the President twenty years ago in Kythira, when Pavlopoulos was a Professor of Law and the “feelings of friendship and esteem that were created then…will always remain alive.”
Addressing Georgousopoulos, the President of the Hellenic Republic called him the ‘Mystery’ of the theatre, honouring him for his great contribution to the Greek alphabet and to the literary field of the theatre.
