Türkiye newspaper: Three challenges made by Greece in only 7 days

By 3 years ago

"Three challenges in seven days by Greece" is the title of the publication of the pro-Erdoğan Türkiye newspaper, defiantly stating that Athens' undermines the dialogue process.

Türkiye attempts to create a failure for the talks because of Ankara's insistence in imposing its own agenda on the negotiating table.

"Before the 61st exploratory meeting between Ankara and Athens next week, Greece made three provocative moves last week that undermined the dialogue process," the newspaper said, among other things, presenting the three "challenges" from Greece.

1. The recent statements of the Archbishop of Athens and all of Greece Ieronymos about Islam, despite the clarifying announcement from the Archdiocese of Athens.

Archbishop Ieronymos II.

2. The joint military exercise between Greek and US forces that took place - according to the publication - on an islet reminiscent of Imia.

3. The statements by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias in parliament about Greece reserving the right to expand to 12 nautical miles in the Aegean Sea - a move that Turkey considers a "cause of war".
