As reported on GCT last month, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis called for the creation of an EU-wide Covid-19 vaccination certificate that will help restore safe travel that has been devastated by the pandemic.
This idea has gained traction by several EU member states including Denmark, Sweden and Austria.
The ‘vaccine certificates’ could prove to be an important part of future international travel regulations to stop the spread of COVID-19 and its variants.
Earlier this week, Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis confirmed that the 'vaccine certificate' will be used in Greece.
He explained that the document will have the name of the holder, the date they received the vaccine and its expiration.
Theoharis also stressed that Greece would be open this year to all visitors holding either a negative molecular Covid-19 test or a vaccination certificate when entering the country.
