Murals of 1821 Heroes cleaned up after vandalism (VIDEO)

By 3 years ago

As reported on GCT yesterday, vandals defaced murals of 1821 heroes in Argyroupoli for the second time.

The vandalism sparked community outrage.

The eyes and mouths of the heroes were covered by black paint.

On Tuesday, the vandalism was cleaned up.

In commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolt, 18-year-old artist Evrytos depicted the main figures of the struggle – Karaiskakis, Nikitaras, Botsaris, etc.

His work quickly went viral on social media.

As he stated previously, with this move he wanted to celebrate the anniversary of the Revolution, sending his own message to those who seek to gray the ideas of the 1821 struggle.
