By 3 years ago

The President of the Hellenic Republic  Katerina Sakellaropoulou expressed her gratitude and thanks on behalf of her country for the help Austrian volunteer firefighters and other volunteers provided with the multiple fires in Greece, on Monday.

The President made the comments during a meeting with a group of volunteer firefighters in Innsbruck, Austria, where she is on an official visit to attend the European Alpbach Forum.

Sakellaropoulou told the firefighters that she had wanted to host the representatives of all firefighters who came from other countries to help, but that was not possible because they had to return to their countries.

"It is a great joy to have the opportunity to meet you here and express to you and the rest of the volunteers the gratitude of all Greeks for your contributions," she said.

At the Forum, she also met with the governor of the Federated State of Tyrol, Günther Platter.
