Cyprus is one of the candidate countries hoping to host Eurobasket 2025.

More specifically, six countries have submitted a formal request for Eurobasket 2025.

Cyprus is one of them, with a request for the organization of one of the groups of the event, while one group was requested to organize Finland as well .

The other candidate countries are Finland, Hungary, Latvia, Russia and Ukraine.

The 42nd European Eurobasket event will be held in September 2025, and will take place in four countries, continuing the same successful formula that started in 2015, with which more than one country hosts the event.

As in previous tournaments, one of the four countries will host the final phase of the tournament.

Finland was one of four countries that hosted the Eurobasket 2017, while Latvia hosted the group stage of 2015.

Hungary and Ukraine showed interest in the past but have yet to host the event.

FIBA Europe will assess all areas and facilities between October 2021 and January 2022, before the Board of FIBA Europe decided on the four organisers in the second quarter of next year.
