Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is losing popularity to potential rivals in the next presidential elections, the mayor of Ankara Mansur Yavaş or Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
According to a December poll by MetroPOLL Research, Ankara Mayor Yavaş leads the vote with 54.4%, compared to 32.9% for the president. The difference reaches 21.5% units.
It is the same picture in the case that the Turkish president's main rival is the mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem İmamoğlu.
In this case, İmamoğlu leads with 48.7% and the president follows with 36.6%. Difference 12.1%.
The two main opposition parties that have formed an alliance against Erdoğan exceed the percentages of the ruling coalition of the AKP and MHP.

According to these percentages, the AKP-MHP coalition receives 30.4% and the National Alliance (CHP and IYI) reaches 32.3%.
Overall, 52% believe that the current president will lose the next presidential election and 44% think he will win.

Of particular interest are the answers to the question of whether "they approve of the way in which Erdoğan is acting".
The majority of 57.2% answered "No" and 38.6% gave an "OK" to the Turkish president.
