A US House of Representatives delegation met with the Greek prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday in Athens.
Mitsotakis praised the "very good level" of Greek-US relations during talks, according to a statement from the office of the Greek prime minister.

According to Mitsotakis, Greece has developed into a significant gate in the flow of energy to Europe. Alexandroupolis (Dedeagac), a location in the country's north, is of considerable strategic importance.

The Greek prime minister noted that Turkey's rhetoric heightened tensions in bilateral relations and added that Athens supports dialogue based on maritime and international law.
Adam Smith, the head of the US House of Representatives Armed Services Committee, served as the delegation's leader. George Tsunis, the US ambassador to Athens, was with him.
