The actress and singer Angela Zilia died at the age of 88. The president of the Union of Greek Actors (SEH), Spyros Bibilas, announced the news of her death in a related post.
“It is with great sadness that we learned a little while ago of the sudden departure from life of our dear friend and great iconic singer with the velvety voice of the 60s, 70s, 80s with numerous awards at domestic and international festivals, but also very dear due to her significant presence as an actress in the characteristic melo films of the 60’s, the one and only, Angela Zilia. A very kind lady who loved us younger ones like her own children. Have a nice trip, our sweet Angela,” said Spyros Bibilas.
Born on March 24, 1935 in Athens, she won numerous prizes at music festivals.
Angela Zilia studied music at the Zouanea School and excelled as a singer of light songs, winning five awards at various festivals (Barcelona, Sopot and Thessaloniki). The last award was in 1967 with the song Kalosorises erotas.
