The meeting of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in New York was commented on by the Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Dimitris Kairides, who said that Turkey is seeking specific things from Greece.
The minister said on SKAI television that the Turkish president is "known for his butt-flips", and commenting on the mutual willingness of the two leaders to improve Greek-Turkish relations, he said: "Turkey did not suddenly become European or democratic; it just wants specific things from America (implying the armaments), and that's why it needs Greece."
"In international relations, we look at what is in the country's best interest," said Mr. Kairidis. "The relationship that Erdoğan seeks is transactional," he added.
