The media in Turkey point out the intention to continue the excellent climate between Greece and Turkey, emphasising the climate crisis and the extreme weather phenomena that have affected the two countries, but also the cooperation on the issue of immigration.
"Erdoğan and Mitsotakis agreed: They will work together on immigration," is the headline of a publication in the Türkiye newspaper, commenting that: "Knowing that the issue of immigration is a common challenge, the two countries have agreed to work together to address this issue."
The AHaber network and the positive atmosphere during the meeting present Mitsotakis' statements. "Statement by Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis after he meets with President Erdoğan: The meeting was productive" is the title of a related publication.
"Greece wants to increase cooperation with Turkey", TRT Haber comments, focusing on what Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said after he met with Erdoğan.
"Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis stated that he wants to deepen cooperation with Turkey on the climate crisis and illegal immigration", reports the Haber Global network, adding that there may be agreements and signatures on these issues at the upcoming Supreme Strategic Council of Greece - Turkey which will recover in Thessaloniki.
"President Erdoğan welcomed Mitsotakis" is the title of a publication of the newspaper Yeni Şafak, in which it is pointed out: "Being aware that the issue of immigration is a common challenge for both countries, an agreement was reached on cooperation to deal with this issue".
The Hürriyet newspaper has the title: "Spring will come with Greece", noting that the two leaders agreed to cooperate on the issues of migration, the climate crisis, and the problems of natural disasters.
With the title: "Intensive diplomatic activity in the USA: President Erdoğan welcomed Mitsotakis", the Sabah newspaper refers to the meeting of the two leaders, their statements and the Turkish president's posts on social networks. Regarding the meeting, President Erdoğan commented on his social media account: "I hope our meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be beneficial for our countries and our region."
Cumhuriyet newspaper focuses on the statements of Mitsotakis after the meeting with Erdoğan, with the title of a related report: "Statement of Mitsotakis after the meeting with Erdoğan: "We reached an agreement to deepen the positive climate that has been created".
