Residents of Volos in the Magnesia prefecture were ordered to stay indoors by police at 18:40 on Wednesday and forbidden to travel, as heavy rain was falling on the city as of Wednesday afternoon and creating torrents on the roads, ANA reports.

The 'Elias' storm has also created problems in the city centre and its suburbs, flooding roads, basements, homes, and businesses. The downpour also threatens to raise the waters of Krafsidonas River again to dangerous levels, as it did during the recent 'Daniel' storm.
